Self hosted vs cloud pricing and limitations
Hello , We are currently evaluating Zitadel for use within our company and plan to deploy the open-source version, self-hosted in our own infrastructure. Our main use cases are authentication via local accounts and allowing our users to connect using their own external Identity Providers (IDPs). We are trying to understand if there are any limits in the self-hosted open-source software that would require purchasing a license to surpass them. Specifically: - Regarding the number of users (total registered or concurrently active): does the self-hosted open-source software have a limit, beyond which a commercial license for the self-hosted deployment becomes necessary to support more users? - Regarding the number of external Identity Providers: does the self-hosted open-source software have a limit on how many IDPs can be configured and active, beyond which a commercial license for the self-hosted deployment is needed to add more? - Beyond these specific points, are there any other functional or capacity limits (e.g., regarding organizations, applications, specific feature usage, etc.) within the self-hosted open-source software that would similarly require purchasing a commercial license to extend or fully enable? Any clarification on this licensing aspect for scaling a self-hosted open-source deployment would be very helpful for our planning and evaluation. Thank you for your time !
