FYes the eventstore table can get bigger over time, but it should not be a problem. we are working constantly on some performance improvements to avoid such problems.
FWe run DBs well over 400GB and have not seen a lot of issues on this 
FYeah sure... 4/16 will do the trick for this well enough but if you need a little more headroom 4/32 or 8/32 will serve you well.
