Use-case:
I'm self-hosting a GitLab instance but we have multiple tenants from different institutions. Some want SSO with Google or Microsoft (which is fine, I can figure that out) but some users need just username/password.
I can see how to have no password field in the UI by forcing SSO, but I don't want that. I want to have 2 steps in the UI, first insert just username and, if that falls through the checks for known organisations, then come back and show the password field.
How do I achieve that workflow?
Environment: Cloud
Stack: hosting app is Gitlab, IDPs are Google/Azure via OIDC
