Portuguese translations not working in Login V2

The changelog on release 4.14.0 says that the portuguese translations for login v2 were merged, but yet, they aren't working for me in 4.15.3
the language appears as an option in the select, but all the labels remain in english, the only thing in portuguese are the messages that i believe come from the front-end, like this "user not found" one
