Login V2 preferred username adding email domain but no with login V1 when user is externally authent
Hello hello!
As I’m working to transition to login V2 primarily in conjunction with Google workspace SSO as well as Entra ID external authentication, when a user is created, their preferred username ends up being user@company-domain.com@org.auth.company-domain.com because I have “Add organization domain as suffix to login names” checked in the domain settings page. However, when I was using login V1, any externally authenticated/created user ends up with the preferred username of user@org.auth.company-domain.com stripping the email domain. Is this a bug or feature? I would like to maintain the way it happened in login V1
I’m sure I can use actions to edit the username, but this change in user creation is making the usernames way too long…
Anybody have any ideas?
I’ve tested this on a self hosted instance as well as cloud, with both Google and Microsoft as external providers and it seems consistent.
