"User registration allowed" Checkbox doesn't work
I don't want Users to be able to register themselves - they only should be invited manually by me to prevent registration-spam and unwanted users.
As you can see in Screenshot1 I've disabled that checkbox for that reason.
Then I tried to register new users on
mydomain.de/ui/v2/login/register?requestId=oidc_V2_...
=> And the registration works regardless of my setting
As mentioned in the Tooltip of that Checkbox "User Registration allowed" it should "Allow anonymous users to create an account." ONLY if checkbox is checked and disable user creation/registration if NOT checked.
=> Or am I missing something here?
How can I fully prevent users from manually registering with email?
I was thining about that they only should be able to register with social logins like Google/Apple/etc.

Answer
I wasn't able to find a direct answer, here are some relevant sources:
1. [Bug]: User Registration disabled but still possible : This GitHub issue describes the exact problem you're experiencing where the registration setting doesn't prevent direct access to the registration URL.
2. Discord message from @prernasyan_41305 on 2024-10-17 : A Discord discussion about organization-level settings not being applied when using default instance settings instead.

Solution:
My Organisation Settings have overridden the global instance settings... To fix this you should check and validate your settings for the organization.
