SMTP on Digital Ocean Blocked
Hello hello Zitadel community! I’ve got an interesting one here, I recently migrated my self hosted Zitadel instance from on-prem to a digital ocean droplet. Everything works fantastic and migration was smooth as ever. However, self service emails have been rendered useless because digital ocean and other VPS providers default to blocking SMTP connections as a spam prevention policy which is fair. But now, if I have a locally administered user, how can they reset their passwords or even verify email? I’ve reached out to DO to allow port 587 connections. But I don’t have a lot of faith in that. Does anyone have any ideas? Any way I can maybe relay through an on prem server or something like that?

hey @AYEEDITYA you can configure a SMTP through zitadel's prod setup

Hey, setting up SMTP wasn’t the issue. The issue was digital ocean blocking outgoing SMTP connections to Google or Microsoft on ports 465 and 587.
As it turns out, if you complain to them enough, they will release those ports resuming self service emails. So I can close this now
hey @AYEEDITYA awesome, I will close your question
