500 errors from all requests

I'm using pulumi (terraform) to set up everything except from actual users in zitadel, so organization, label/login policies, applications and their auth methods, and roles.
I've created a dedicated service account for pulumi
I use zitadel.cloud instance
version v3.3.2
I've set things up a while ago, but now when refreshing or updating the setup all I get from zitadel is 500 internal error.
pulumi should be able to both create resources and fetch the existing resources to make sure everything is as configured in pulumi scripts
the zitadel provider for Pulumi was recently released (the last March) so it should be up to date with the API.
