FYes, I think we tried to do it the same way as on the applications, but its not really obvious. We can definitely improve the ux there

Fyes, client id client secret is sometimes needed for the apps, its depending on the auth flow you are using
Fyes, the reason behind that is, that only users can be authenticated and no clients. if a machine wants to authenticate, it will be a service account
